ABS
Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, commonly known as ABS, combines three unique compounds to create a versatile and cost effective thermoplastic polymer. An impact resistant and durable product with low moisture absorption rates, ABS is easily manufactured for indoor and outdoor applications, including appliance parts, automotive trim, and enclosures. Parts made with ABS can be joined with machine screws, bolts, nuts, rivets, and spring steel fasteners.
Best known for its rigid design, glossy exterior and electrical insulation properties, ABS boasts a highly heat tolerant design allowing for ease of thermoforming and sonic welding on wood, epoxy, ceramic, and aluminum. Additionally, press and snap techniques are used for bonding with compatible materials.
Designed with the consumer’s needs in mind, ABS is customizable with color matching technology, a range of widths, and seven unique textures. Piedmont Plastics stocks ABS in plate, sheet, and rod profiles with both standard and customized lengths.
